Through our Empty Seat Subsidy program, CommuterLink will cover the loss of fare if your vanpool loses a rider and doesn't have a replacement. In fact, we'll contribute the full amount for the empty seat until a new rider is found – for up to 3 months.
To be eligible for this benefit, your vanpool (and its driver or coordinator) must be registered with CommuterLink. In addition, your driver/coordinator must fill out an Empty Seat Subsidy application and provide a list of vanpool participants.
Of course, the first thing we do when someone leaves a vanpool is help the remaining members search for a replacement. You can count on CommuterLink to provide any assistance you need to recruit new passengers.
